Wooden Garden Sofa

WOODEN GARDEN SOFA "Sofas - a long loved and leisurely way to relax"! Sofas have been called by many names, we are familiar with them being called couches, but they have also been called settees, lounges, davenports, or chesterfields. But it does not stop there they also go by other names because of their various styles such as a two-seater, a three-seater, a corner sofa, or perhaps a chaise lounge.

Once your outdoor wood furniture is clean and protected, you can start thinking about garden sofa to become a comfortable and stylish piece within your yard.

Raw materials
The frame of a sofa is made most often wood, though another options include steel, plastic, and laminated boards or a combination of the above. Among all frames, Kiln-dried maple wood deemed free of knots, bark, and compromising defects is also used under the upholstery. Maple can also be used for the show wood of the legs, arms, and back. But, sometimes mahogany, walnut, or fruit woods are used for carved legs or moldings for a nice piece of sofa.

Padding is primarily made from animal hair. Foam and polyester fiberfill wraps are also used for mass production. Apart from all above mentioned parts, cushions are fashioned from polyurethane foam, polyester fiber, down, cotton, latex, or cotton-wrapped springs. Any choice of synthetic, natural, or blended fabric can be used to cover the sofa. Though, wool and nylon are among the best choices in the categories of natural and synthetic fibers, yet cotton, acetate, rayon, and polyester have their own remarkable properties.

Springs are made of tempered steel. A typical sofa calls for 15 yd (13.71m) of burlap and at least 10 yd (9.14 m) of muslin for the interior. Finally, all materials are fastened with approximately 1,000 or more tacks, over 200 yd (182.8 m) of twine, and hundreds of yards of machine sewing thread.

Design
One can find sofas in three major sizes. The full sofa is 84 in (2.13 m) wide. Smaller versions like the two-seater and love seat range between 60 and 80 in (1.52-2.03 m). The design of a sofa depends basically on the types of wood used, the average size of the people who will use it most e.g. a deep seated sofa is good for taller people but is not comfortable for shorter people. The style of a sofa is generally set by its arms, which double as artistic statements and rests.

Garden sofas made in sandstone are available in simple and intricate patterns to provide comfort in style. A walk in your garden or park would never be the same again with the use of garden sofas. They are used both for residential and commercial purposes.
