December 4, 2010- The ongoing annual craft show- Dastkari Mela- at Dilli Haat this year is focusing on handicrafts, especially made by the South Asian women. One of the 'most waited for' craft exhibition aims at ‘socio-economic transformation' of women working in the handicrafts sector as also on multifarious uses of natural fibres and substances. Apart from the handicraft items from each State of India, the craft show displays works from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka which makes Dilli Haat one of the

The reasonably priced handicrafts at Dilli Haat craft show include name plates, wall hangings, mirrors, cups and glasses made from recycled paper; lamp shades made of bottle gourd, Jaipuri sarees, bedsheets, handmade shawls and woolens, terracotta and baked clay in form of wall clock, vases, necklaces, earrings and other jewelery. Handicrafts shopping enthusiasts will also find daily use items like bags, purses, pencil cases, photo frames etc. made of natural fibres and recycled materials. This craft exhibition at Dilli Haat will last till January 7, 2010.
